I get Kalamazoo area college student's marijuana charge deferred so it can be dismissed if he successfully completes probation.  Parent finds evidence that son may be smoking pot, instead of calling me, calls probation officer to ask if son can be randomly tested.  Son may now be chargd with probation violation and conviction might be entered.  Son admits roach was next to his car but it was his friend's not his and he tested negative for drugs right afterward.  Lesson one, call me first.
